I grew up in a house like that...Oh, you poor thing! I grew up in a house like that sans the candy (but I did buy my own from time to time). I would say that you are eating your feelings (I know, I know, that's terrible!) I say that sort of as a joke, because that's what I yell across the room when my kids sneak treats ("Hey! Don't eat your feelings!") We all laugh about it around here. But to some degree it's true. I find that the more food I have around the house, the less exciting it seems. Keep buying your trigger foods, eat them all up, and maybe you'll get sick of them.
